LAPD Detectives Announce Arrest of Homicide Suspects NA20056ma

The press conference will be in the rear courtyard of the station. Pedestrian access is via the 77th St. entrance. Due to limited space, NO MEDIA VEHICLES will be allowed in the station parking lot.

DETAILS:

On July 31, 2020, Austin Belisle was killed in the area on 52nd Street and Ruthelen Street. In the weeks that followed, detectives worked closely with several LAPD units, including Metropolitan Division personnel and South Bureau's ATF Task Force. On October 7, 2020 three individuals were arrested for the murder of Belisle; 20-year-old James Dorsey, 21-year-old Deshawn Grant and 22-year-old Davone Garrett, and 24-year-old Jamemal Baker was arrested for theft of the victim's property. On October 9, 2020, Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filed 187(A) PC with a gang enhancement on the three arrested for murder and 496(A) PC with a gang enhancement on the suspect arrested for theft.
