Cause of Death: Helicopter Crash
Bio: Ofcr Amberg and Ofcr Ilnicki were flying
their helicopter eastbound from the area above Dodger Stadium
heading due east to investigate a traffic jam on the 110 Fwy east
of the stadium. At the same time a news helicopter was flying due
north just south of the stadium along the 110 Fwy to investigate
the same traffic jam as the Police helicopter. The two helicopters
were on a 45 degree merge angle when they collided near Dodger
Stadium. Both Officers were killed along with two pilots in the
news helicopter in the accident.
